White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed USA plans to go to the 2018 Winter Olympics shortly after raising questions about whether American athletes would participate in the games in South Korea, where North Korea's nuclear ambitions have raised security concerns about the event.

Just last week, the International Olympic Committee banned Russia's Olympic team from the games as punishment for a state-backed doping program.

The Games will be held 9-25 February 2018.

"I think those are conversations that we're going to have to have", she added. "We don't ever fear anything, we live our lives", said Haley. "We have that, and certainly that's a ideal opportunity for all of them to go and do something they worked so hard for".

"There's an open question", Haley responded.

"He plans to watch an ice hockey event together with his fans to relay his thanks and contribute to the success of PyeongChang", a Tree J representative said.

The US Olympic Committee released a statement in response, saying it had not had any discussions, either internally or with government officials.

The United States Olympic Committee said that it had not discussed the possibility of not sending a team.

North Korea's Foreign Ministry claimed this week that the outbreak of war on the Korean Peninsular is an "established fact" and seemingly a matter of when rather than if. If hostility with the the communist nation continues at its current trend, it might not be safe to send American athletes to the region. "But what have we always said?"

In one way, this does make some sense.

As the host country for the Winter Olympics, South Korea invited North Korea to the games, but it is unclear whether this will diffuse tensions following joint American-South Korean air force drills and North Korea's recent missile launch.

One country that won't be sending its athletes to Pyeongchang is Russian Federation.

Her comments came on the same day that President Donald Trump announced the US would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel - causing uproar among world leaders and fueling the threat of violent protests.
