HOF QB, Seahawks broadcaster Moon sued for sexual harrassment

Wendy Haskell alleges Moon made "unwanted and unsolicited" sexual advances at the company.

According to the lawsuit, Haskell was hired as an executive assistant to Moon in the summer of 2017.

After the news broke Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks announced that Moon would take a leave of absence from his job as a radio announcer on the team's games.

Moon, who was named the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year in 1989, was sued by a Vikings cheerleader who accused him of offering her cash for sex in 1995.

The lawsuit claims that Haskell reported Moon's behaviour to Sports 1 Marketing CEO David Meltzer but the company did not investigate her claims.

The suit, which was filed Monday in Orange County, Calif., names Moon and Sports 1 Marketing as defendants.

Moon, who played collegiately at the University of Washington, is in his 14th season as an analyst on Seahawks radio broadcasts. Moon requested and received a "temporary" leave of absence from the network, Fears said. She also claims that Moon grabbed her crotch while she was sleeping and slipped a drug into her drink during a trip to Mexico in October because he thought she was not "having fun". He then ventured to the National Football League and made nine Pro Bowls, throwing for 49,325 yards, 291 touchdowns and 233 interceptions in 17 National Football League seasons with the Houston Oilers, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs and Seahawks. Haskell says in the lawsuit that she complained about the arrangement but Moon responded "this was the way it was".

According to the lawsuit, Moon forced Haskell to share a bed with him and wear "skimpy thong lingerie bottoms" at night.

Additionally, the lawsuit says Haskell was required to keep the bathroom door unlocked while she showered and Moon repeatedly entered the room. She also claims Moon pulled off her swimsuit during the Mexico trip. "Mr. Moon contends these claims are meritless, and he has every intention to vigorously defend himself in court".

Moon spent six seasons in the CFL, and led the Edmonton Eskimos to five straight Grey Cup titles, while throwing for 21,228 yards and 144 touchdowns.

But the nine-time pro-bowl player who played pro football in both the Canadian and American leagues is denying the charges, Pro Football Talk reports.

"Wendy Haskell made the decision to right a giant wrong", her attorney, Diana Fitzgerald, told Reuters late Wednesday in a telephone interview from Miami. He became one of the NFL's first successful black quarterbacks, starting his career with the Oilers in the 1984 season.

"She was expecting to further her career in the sports marketing industry", Fitzgerald told The Post.

"Whenever [the assistant] expressed reservations about these outrageous "job duties, ' Moon insisted this was "just the way it is, ' and threatened [the assistant] that unless she was 'comfortable" with him, he'd 'find someone else who was.' Moon insisted these 'requirements" were part of the job, and made clear that [the assistant]'s employment depended on her acceptance and compliance with Moon's lascivious behavior, demands and orders".
