At a launch event in London, Honor 7X was officially unveiled today.

If you're in the market for a hefty mid-range smartphone, the Honor 7X may be worth taking a look at. The device comes with a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) FullView display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. This is the version that will be available in the U.S., whereas Europe will get a more advanced model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card.

The big twist is that the fingerprint sensor has been incorporated into the glass, snuggled under the narrow bezel. It also has 8 megapixels front camera. Both models will be available via Amazon India from 7th December for ₹12,999 and ₹15,999 respectively.

Apart from India, the device will be launched in France, Germany, Italy, Britain, the US, Spain and Russian Federation. For the front camera, there is a 13MP sensor.

On the outside, the Honor View 10 is a mash-up of countless other Huawei and Honor designs.

Speaking at the launch, Honor CEO George Zhao noted that the new devices marked the start of the company "redefining" its global strategy to mark its two anniversary of launching in Europe.

We may see more about the View 10 at CES since there are now no pricing or availability details.

Huawei's subsidiary brand Honor has kept the promise of pricing its 7X aggressively in India.

The Honor 7X runs Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 right on top. There are no stereo speakers or other shenanigans, but at half the price of the 10 Pro, the V10 maybe one of the best value for money phones you will be able to get in the United States next month, when the phone will be released at this side of the pond.

"It has a 5.93" FHD+ 18:9 display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Honor 7X is powered by Kirin 659 CPU and 4GB of RAM.

Moving to the rear cameras, Honor is pairing up a 16-megapixel f/1.8 primary shooter with a 20-megapixel secondary monochrome one, which means you'll be able to capture true black-and-white images in addition to Portrait Mode shots.

On the connectivity front, the phone support 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GLONASS, A-GPS and connects to the computer using a microUSB 2.0 cord.

However, the features that might not impress us on the Honor 7x are the old school micro USB port for charging and data syncing, the third party EMUI operating system, which might not receive faster software updates. The phone is available in either Aurora Blue, Gold, or Black colorways.
