The 16-year-old, whose name police have not released, is seen lifting the cat with both hands and flinging the terrified kitten into the air.

Authorities described the animal as a "small kitten" and reported that it miraculously only suffered a fractured leg from the horrifying incident. The teenager, who has been identified as Charlie, drew a lot of backlash online from animal rights activists and people with a conscience in general, demanding Charlie receives some sort of punishment for his inhumane behavior.

Although the suspect has yet to be found and arrested, cops say they located the cat's owner.

In a press release, the Ontario Police Department says the investigation is ongoing and it encourages anyone with tips to call in.

The kitten and its owner have been located.

Another user said: "I really just want someone to drop his name".

The cat, a rescue named Spots, was treated at an animal hospital for a broken leg and possible internal injuries. "He hangs around here in the alley all the time", Oscar Ramos told the CBS affiliate. Bunch of little kids doing drugs. "He probably did it just to look cool on video", he added.
