New England Patriots take on the Buffalo Bills

The New England Patriots stuck it to the Bills at New Era Field, picking up a 23-3 victory in a game that devolved into a chippy, dirty affair. A 50-yard Stephen Gostkowski would make it 3-0 New England going into the second quarter. A big sack from the Buffalo 5-yard line for Kyle Williams would stop the Patriots and their momentum in their tracks.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback walked off the field.

Sean McDermott's gameplan clearly confused Brady in the first half, but the Bills' offense was unable to capitalize on the opportunity the defense presented. It's becoming harder and harder to remember those days earlier this season, particularly after yet another strong performance in Buffalo, where former Buffalo cornerback Stephon Gilmore continued to shine in the second half of the season with a handful of stellar plays on his old turf. The New England Patriots offense rolled in their first possession of the half. I would say just being able to go there gets your juices flowing, and it's just a dream come true every single time you get to go to your hometown and play. In a 12-9 overtime victory on December 16 of that season, wide receiver David Patten had fumbled along the sideline and was knocked out briefly on the play, but because his head was out of bounds and the ball was still touching him, the Bills couldn't recover it legally.

Tyrod Taylor left the game in the fourth quarter with a knee injury and did not return. Burkhead finished a 70-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown and found the end zone on a 14-yard run up the middle to cap a 78-yard march.

The Patriots would hold on for a final score of 23-3.

The Pats are now 10-2 on the season, while the Bills drop to 6-6. The Bills fall to (6-6) and will play the Colts in Buffalo next week.
