Brendan Green, the Creative Director for PUBG recently said that the game would run at 60FPS on the new Xbox One X, but has apparently walked back that statement to confirm that the game will run at 30 FPS between the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X. On Xbox One X, you can expect the Hunger Games-style shooter to run at 60 FPS, creator Brendan Greene said in a new interview. They'll certainly be keen on trying, though.

However, Greene noted that the developer Bluehole is enhancing the game before launch, so that it can reach 60 FPS on both the standard Xbox One and the Xbox One X. If PUBG is able to overcome the sizable lead that Fortnite has built up on consoles and generate similar success as it already has on Steam, fans shouldn't be too surprised to see Microsoft attempt to extend the timed exclusivity deal to keep the incredibly popular shooter away from Sony. He says last time he checked it ran at 30-40 FPS and they are continuing to improve it.

The game is poised to make a splash, no matter its frames per second, that's for sure, since it's already taken the world by storm these past few months.

It will be available worldwide on Xbox One on December 12 under "Xbox Game Preview". That's why we're doing Game Preview because I think the great thing about the console is it's a locked hardware system, so we can do really specific tweaks that tune it for those systems.

Talking through the official PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds Twitter account, he states that PUBG will actually run at 30fps across all Xbox platforms. "The amount of detail that has to go into 4K textures is enormous, and it's going to take us some time to get them, but we do have a plan".
