Superstar Bette Midler slammed her accused sexual assaulter, Geraldo Rivera, after he called Matt Lauer a "great guy" and "highly skilled" after reports of sexual misconduct. "Geraldo may have apologized for his tweets supporting Matt Lauer, but he has yet to apologize for this".

Usually an apology doesn't begin with a preamble about how you didn't actually do anything. On Thursday, Midler tweeted that all these years later, Rivera still hasn't apologized for what he did to her.

Rivera acknowledged the encounter back in '91, when the seriousness (or lack thereof) given to the subject of sexual harassment can be glimpsed in the title of Rivera's memoir: Exposing Myself. Groped me. I did not offer myself up on the altar of Geraldo Rivera.

This man is awful at apologies.

In the clip, Midler says Rivera and his producer came to interview her in the 1970s, and then drugged and groped her. "They pushed me into my bathroom, they broke two poppers and pushed them under my nose and proceeded to grope me".

In a tweet, she called Rivera out for not apologizing for the time he allegedly assaulted her over four decades ago.

In the tweet posted by the actress-singer, she included a video from a 1991 interview with Barbara Walters in which she first made her allegation against Rivera.

"This was when [Rivera] was very, sort of, hot", Midler tells Walters in the video.

In that clip, Midler hesitates in recounting what she alleges happened with Rivera during his visit to interview her in the early 1970s, saying it will get her in trouble. "News is a flirty business and it seems like current epidemic of sex harassment allegations may be criminalizing courtship and conflating it with predation".

"He added: "#SexHarassment should be confined to situations where superior imposes himself on subordinate who feels unable to complain because of power of perp or feared consequences to victim's employment. Rivera is a "roaming correspondent-at-large for Fox News" and has worked for the network since 2001. "We were troubled by his comments and are addressing them with him".

Rivera later apologized for the tweets, calling harassers "deviants".
