Harvey Weinstein sued over Cannes sex attack claims by Brit actress

Harvey Weinstein faces civil claim in UK for alleged sexual assault Harvey Weinstein

A new lawsuit was filed against Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein, and The Weinstein Company today in a federal court in NY.

"Upon information and belief, the code word among TWC employees 'FOH, ' meant 'Friend of Harvey, ' and referred to a young woman who had participated in sex in exchange for a role.in an upcoming project", the complaint states.

But that was until Kadian Noble, an aspiring British actress, made a decision to sue both Harvey and his brother Bob, and the Weinstein Company under federal sex trafficking laws, in order to bring the movie mogul to the justice that his actions over the years, has deserved.

Buzzfeed had two lawyers weigh in on the lawsuit, which is essentially a legal maneuver around the statute of limitations for a sexual assault lawsuit and not actually accusing Weinstein of trafficking women.

Harvey Weinstein was slapped with a civil lawsuit Monday charging him with sex trafficking tied to an alleged assault in Cannes, France.

She alleges Weinstein told her they could work together if she was "a good girl" and did "whatever he wished". But shortly after Noble arrived, Weinstein allegedly began groping her and eventually trapped her in the bathroom, where he forced her to engage in sex acts.

Kadian says Weinstein pounced on her when she met him at a hotel during the Cannes Film Festival in February 2014. Noble is not only suing Weinstein; she's going after him as an alleged sex trafficker.

'Despite such knowledge, Bob Weinstein, as an executive of TWC, continued to pay for and facilitate these foreign trips for Harvey Weinstein'.

According to the suit, which was obtained by Buzzfeed News, Noble alleges the disgraced film producer lured her to the French Rivera in 2014 with "the promise of a film role".

Ms Noble is seeking unspecified damages for "severe injuries and emotional distress, pain and suffering, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, inability to lead a normal life, shame and humiliation".

As well as denying allegations of non-consensual sex, Weinstein has said - in a statement issued on his behalf - that "there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances".

The complaint also names Weinstein's brother Bob and The Weinstein Company as defendants, saying they were complicit in the scheme and knew, or should've known, what his intentions were.

Neither a representative for Bob Weinstein nor The Weinstein Company immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment.
