However, they would do so after the film is passed by the Censor Board. Salman has said that we should not judge the film before its release. "It is highly objectionable as it tampers with history". "Sanjay (Leela Bhansali) makes very lovely and excellent films", he further added.

"It is a clear violation of Indian law". The film has its own merit and we just want that the censor board gives us a screening date so that we can take it ahead.

The upcoming film Padmavati will see Shahid play the role of Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh while Deepika will be seen playing the role of Rani Padmini. We have tried to keep everyone's feelings and interests in mind.

Padmavati, slated to release on December 1, has sparked huge outrage with people demanding the film not be released to the point that petitions have also been submitted in the Supreme Court against the director. "What they (certain sections of people) are saying is not in the film, we do not have anything to hide", he added.

Recently, the Supreme Court turned down a plea seeking a stay on the release of Padmavati and said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) should consider the "aspects before granting a certificate", PTI reported. While addressing the media on the row, President of the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association Ashoke Pandit said that the whole creative fraternity is hurt by these incidents.

"When something so lovely is coming, they don't think like "oh it's not ours, it's theirs".

Kapoor, who walked the ramp at a fashion show on Saturday evening, was asked about the opposition to the film. The first posters of Padmavati, featuring Deepika, were also burnt.

While Deepika remained mum on Padmavati being in the line of fire, the actor said the team can not wait for the people to watch the film. "It's going to be special", she said.
