Blizzard's real-time strategy game (RTS) StarCraft II will be going 100% free-to-play, later this month. Now, the entirety of this aforementioned campaign can be played free of charge. Unlocking play in Ranked Mode will require you to earn 10 First Wins of the Day in either of the two modes that are already available to you.

Fans will also be happy to hear that players will be able to access the ladder of all three games in the series. After becoming the esport of choice for both viewers and players in the early 2010s, the game lost its footing to other multiplayer titles like League of Legends and Dota 2.

On top of all this, you'll be able to play Co-Op Commanders - current and upcoming - for free up to level five, with the weekly mutation level restriction removed.

During BlizzCon 2017 today, it was announced a new co-op mission for StarCraft 2 was on the way called Part and Parcel.

In addition, you'll have access to the full ranked multiplayer ladder and every co-op commander in-game up to level 5.

A majority of StarCraft 2's single-player and multiplayer modes will become accessible for free.

StarCraft II has sold millions of copies worldwide and is available for PC.

If you enjoy what you see in StarCraft II, you can grab Heart of the Swarm, Legacy of the Void, and Nova Covert Ops individually for $14.99 or as a bundle for $39.99. If you have purchased all three campaigns as of October 31, Blizzard will be sending you an exclusive Ghost skin and three new portraits, as a thank you.
