Grocery chain Whole Foods plans to hire 6,000 people nationwide and encouraged job-seekers to come to its stores Thursday as part of a National Hiring Day initiative.

Cashiers, culinary experts, and prepared food specialists candidates interested in seasonal or permanent positions can stop in at any Whole Foods Market store November 2 for an interview and possible on-the-spot job offers.

Those interested can either apply ahead of time or fill out an application at the store.

New Whole Foods Market stores may soon be opening according to Amazon's most recent earnings call last week. Interviewees who land a Whole Foods job will receive 20 percent off all Whole Foods purchases. On the same day that the $13.7 billion deal closed, Whole Foods lowered the prices on a number of items, from avocados to salmon.

Polish your resume. Though a resume is not required, it will help the hiring manager better understand your skills and experiences. The dress code for the interviews is casual.
