Liverpool will continue to refuse to enter into negotiations with Barcelona over the transfer of Philippe Coutinho, despite the La Liga side's insistence that they have not given up on the move.

Now, a claim appears reported by Mundo Deportivo that says Coutinho has actually won a secret deal with manager Juergen Klopp and Liverpool management.

Barcelona plan to reignite their interest in Philippe Coutinho in January and will test Liverpool's resolve with a £120million bid.

The Brazilian playmaker has been a long-term target of the Blaugrana who made several attempts to sign him during the summer transfer window.

Bids of up to €100m were rejected by Liverpool as Barcelona chased the Brazil star up until transfer deadline day.

From Barcelona's point of view, the Brazilian will be cup-tied in the Champions League, which means there will be little value in signing a player they can not feature in their most important competition. We will be ready to recruit in January.

The Times' Paul Joyce, elaborating on Grau's comments, said that "Liverpool will be angered" by Barcelona's renewed efforts.

Saga transfer of Coutinho became the center of European public attention in the transfer market last summer.

Coutinho has already fulfilled his part of the deal after he feature in the first two Champions League games of the campaign against Sevilla and Spartak Moscow, scoring against the Russian club in a 1-1 draw. The Reds were unmoved when Coutinho officially asked him to be sold.
