She made a decision to take matters into own hands to save Port Jackson shark, choosing to simply pick it up and throw it back in the ocean. The shark is thought to have entered the pool during high tide (ai_yoshi) "I was feeling sorry for him", she said.

This mother of a family was coming for a swim in the pool, ocean to Oak Park in Cronulla (Australia) when she saw the small shark. Huge cheers could be heard in the background as she succeeded in lifting the shark up and threw it back into the sea.

Ms Hatheier, an agent with Cronulla Real Estate, was swimming in the pool when she passed over it.

"I jumped in and I thought, 'I reckon I can probably get him out.' And Mum, god love her, called 000 so the police came down as well", Hatheier recalled. "I would have walked on water to get out of the pool". The water was very clear and it was easy to see the shark swimming around.

"He was pretty distressed and bumping into things, so I just followed him around for a bit". "I trapped him in a shallow place, and n I caught him jumping on it. I then grabbed him around the neck so he couldn't swing around and bite me", she explained.

Hatheier's daughter Shannon filmed her mother as she swam fearlessly up to the one-metre-long creature, picked it up and threw it over the pool's barrier and into the ocean.

Then again, turns out the woman in question, Melissa Hatheier, is a real estate agent, so, you know, (insert joke about fellow predatory species here).
