Arsenal squad expect top 28-year-old attacker to leave in January

“It's a possibility” – Dani Alves speaks about Arsenal's Sanchez joining PSG Arsenal haven't made Mesut Ozil a contract offer - source

The Arsenal pair, whose deals at the Emirates expire in the summer, are both yet to sign new contracts with the club and as a result could leave for nothing at the end of the season.

While Wenger remains hopeful they will stay at the club, he's also very aware that Sanchez and Ozil could leave once the transfer window reopens in January.

"I have always said that the fact we didn't find an agreement previous year doesn't mean the player will necessarily leave".

The stalemate leaves Arsenal facing the possibility of their two star players departing for free and Wenger conceded selling mid-season is one solution.

"Both players look happy and, overall, I hope the situation can be turned round, but at the moment we are not close enough to announce anything".

Of Sanchez's potential availability on Saturday against Watford, Wenger said: "I will have to speak with him, I watched the whole game [ against Brazil]".

The Gunners pulled the plug on an agreement to sell Sanchez to Manchester City on deadline day after being unable to secure the signing of Monaco's Thomas Lemar.

When that assessment was put to Wenger, the Frenchman said: 'That's my understanding, yes.

Alves was up against Sanchez on worldwide duty this week when his Brazil side beat Chile in a World Cup qualifier which saw Sanchez's side crash out of the competition.

"The message from Wenger to Sanchez today was: "Give me until January and then you can go", Keown told the Daily Mail. I want what is best for him wherever he goes.

'When you don't have the World Cup, you focus on your club'. Arsenal are now six points off the Premier League leaders after signing just two players this summer - striker Alexandre Lacazette and left-back Sead Kolasinac. In the best form I have seen him for a long time.
