The Giants' problems appear to be snowballing.

In what has been a insane Wednesday, the New York Giants announced that they suspended veteran cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie but there's a possibility he could return Thursday.

"He came in yesterday".

According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Rodgers-Cromartie had a conversation with McAdoo on Tuesday and again on Wednesday, when he ultimately made a decision to leave practice shortly after he got there. "For that, we'll suspend him". McAdoo repeatedly refused to provide any other details about the situation.

"He came in today, chose to leave", McAdoo said.

Usually the Giants' starting nickel cornerback, Rodgers-Cromartie started on the outside against the Chargers in place of Eli Apple, who was benched for three series. Collins described it as an "altercation".

The 31-year-old Florida native is in the fourth season of a five-year, $35 million contract he signed with the Giants in March 2014.

They are 0-5 after making the playoffs a year ago, and the suspension gives the impression that McAdoo is losing his team in just his second year as head coach. Collins, wide receiver Sterling Shepard, defensive end Olivier Vernon, center Weston Richburg, running back Paul Perkins and linebacker Jonathan Casillas all missed practice Wednesday because of injuries and are in danger of missing Sunday's game at Denver.
