Twitter is developing a bookmarking feature that allows user to privately save tweets for later.

Want to reference a tweet you saw days ago, but can't seem to find it? This feature will let users create a separate list of tweets that they can refer back to.

Twitter has been experimenting and adding features lately to keep itself relevant among the users.

The company's product manager Jesar Shar revealed the new feature, which will be known as "Save for Later", yesterday evening and noted that it is something that has been highly requested for some time, particularly by users in Japan.

Twitter wants to build the new bookmarking tool with the community's help and feedback.

In terms of new services, Twitter recently began testing a 280 character limit with some users, which would double the now available word count. For feedback, the Twitter team is monitoring #SaveForLater hashtag. None of the above-mentioned methods are as convenient as clicking a button to save the tweet. All of the bookmarked tweets will be stored in a dedicated part of the app. That menu will house both the "share via DM" and the upcoming "Add to Bookmark" features, though the final version could take on a different form. You can choose from these options to a particular tweet. However, Shah points out that the prototype may "likely" change before release. They can also go through the slightly cumbersome task of direct messaging or emailing a tweet to themselves. However, the "heart" button resembled more like an option and the retweet option was not that quick.

To access something you've already saved, you have to navigate away from the main feed and open a section called Bookmarks.
