Former "Glee" star Mark Salling pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession of child pornography and could face four to six years in prison. He must also pay $50,000 restitution to the victims of his crimes.

The documents reveal that Smalling knowingly downloaded thousands of images of child pornography between April and December 2015, hiding the activity with software that masked his IP address.

One of the original cast members of the hit Fox musical dramedy, Salling starred on Glee as Noah "Puck" Puckerman from 2009 to 2015.

Though it still has to be formally approved by Judge Otis Wright II, the plea agreement with the Acting U.S. Attorney that was filed in California yesterday will also see Salling having to file as a sex offender upon getting out of jail.

The actor was facing two counts of child pornography after police found over 50,000 images of child erotica on his computer and another 4,000 on a flash drive.

Though he attempted to hide his illegal behavior, he showed the horrific images to an "adult woman in the context of their sexual relationship".

According to Crime Watch Daily, police raided Salling's home in December 2015 and used a battering ram to force entry into his home.

He was subsequently fired from his starring role in the miniseries "Adi Shankar's Gods and Secrets" a few days later.

The sentencing comes almost two years after police entered his home using a battering ram and discovered the images on his computer during a raid.
