Teenage right-back Achraf Hakimi makes his debut for the Real Madrid senior team on Sunday as he starts against Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu. In his official press conference, the Frenchman said, "We'll have to see whether he's involved tomorrow".

"He has a strain, it's nothing important, but here we do not like to take risks if a player has something small".

It's unclear why there is such a difference in results at home and away this season, but the demands of the fans in the Bernabeu, where nothing else than a win will suffice, could be one reason and supporters have been quick to latch onto errors and boo players such as Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema. We don't live in the past and what has happened has happened.

"I am happy that he has renewed", he said. He trains with Cristiano [Ronaldo] every day and he is learning from him. You can not sleep or close your eyes for even a second.

With Ronaldo misfiring, it was up to Isco to take a grip of things for Real Madrid against Espanyol. "It is a good stadium to try to demonstrate that we are competitive".

Wales is set to fight for a berth in the 2018 World Cup in the last two qualification matches; away against Georgia on October 6 before hosting Republic of Ireland three days later.

RCD Espanyol: Quique Sanchez Flores has confirmed that first-teamers Pablo Piatti and Victor Sanchez are out with muscular injuries, while Hernan Perez was not amongst the 18 man squad that travelled. Espanyol aren't much better off, though - Javi Lopez, Oscar Duarte, and Adrien Lopez are all sidelines, and they lack the quality of depth that Madrid have to deal with those injuries.

Espanyol were anxiously looking for the equalizer in the second half before Marco Asensio provided a wonderful pass for Isco to score the second and winning goal for Real Madrid in the 71st minute.

The Spain global was the star of the show and netted either side of half-time, but again Real looked to be lacking their usual bite, even with talisman Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting lineup for the third straight league game.

Ramos was next to come close as the Real Madrid skipper met a Ronaldo cross at the far post, and his header brought a wonderful save from Pau Lopez.

Marcelo will likely be replaced by Nacho Fernandez, while Gareth Bale has Lucas Vazquez and Marcos Asensio who have proven to be more than capable of replacing him.
