Jamie Lee Curtis Is Resurrecting Her Role In The 'Halloween' Franchise

'Halloween' Movie: Jamie Lee Curtis Set to Return To Her Iconic Role As Laurie Strode Jamie Lee Curtis To Play Laurie Strode In Halloween Reboot

Jamie Lee Curtis is officially returning for Universal's new Halloween movie. John Carpenter, who cowrote and directed the original movie, will executive produce the along with Green and McBride's Rough House Pictures. "Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween", Curtis tweeted.

Laurie's inclusion is a bit of a surprise since she was seemingly killed off in 2002's "Halloween: Resurrection". How her character factors in and how she survived Halloween: Resurrection have yet to be explained.

Also of interest: Given that Michael Myers is the older brother of Laurie Strode, that will officially make Myers a sexagenarian killer, somewhere in his 60s in this film.

Yes, that's right, the actress will return to the franchise for the upcoming reboot, where she'll "have her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago". Plus, this new installment will have to answer a lot of questions (cuz like, um, isn't Michael Myers totally already dead?).

The 1978 film, with its signature piano soundtrack written by director John Carpenter, has become one of the most successful horror film franchises in cinema history.

Posted above is an exact excerpt taken from the official Facebook account of Jamie Lee Curtis.

The story was crafted by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride and "carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film". The next entry in the series debuts on October 19, 2018, forty years after the release of the original.
