As of Tuesday morning, the Electric Cooperatives report about 44,000 outages in the state's 46 counties.

A convoy of utility trucks and line workers is headed to SC from Arkansas to help the Electric Cooperatives of SC restore power to the more than 52,000 customers who lost service due to Irma Monday.

Pedernales Electric Cooperative sent staff and resources to Hurricane Irma-ravaged Florida on September 11 to help restore electricity to homes and businesses. Spokesman Michael DeFreeuw said crews have always stepped up when volunteers are needed. Offers of assistance came from electric cooperatives as far away as New Hampshire, Vermont and South Dakota. Crews will arrive in the damaged areas on Tuesday.

According to Trent Scott, spokesperson for the Tennessee Electric Cooperative Association, a crew of nine workers from Plateau Electric Cooperative left Oneida this morning to head for Georgia to spend the night.

Earlier the Missouri crews were committed to two cooperatives in South Carolina, Berkeley and Palmetto electric cooperatives. Roughly 785,000 of these are electric co-op outages.

Most of the Missouri electric cooperatives will be sending a digger-derrick truck and a bucket truck to be prepared for anything they may find.

Clay Electric serves 170,000 members in 14 North Florida counties.

The cooperatives are part of a state and national network of hundreds of cooperatives.
