On Thursday, all five living former presidents of United State come together to support the Hurricane Harvey victims.

The campaign also includes another public service announcement - the original PSA focused on Harvey - that will air Sunday and Monday during National Football League telecasts, The Hill reported.

U.S. President Barack Obama (L) and former presidents (L-R) George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter arrive on stage for the George W. Bush Presidential Center dedication ceremony in Dallas, on April 25, 2013.

This is not the first time presidents have teamed up to help raise funds and provide relief to natural disaster victims. Whatever money it raises will be forwarded to the two general funds already created, the Houston Harvey Relief Fund and the Rebuild Texas Fund.

"People are hurting down here", George W. Bush, a native Texan, says in the 30-second television spot.

The five former presidents said they are ready to expand their effort to help people facing Hurricane Irma, now heading for Florida after smashing a string of Caribbean islands.

A couple of hours after the campaign video initially appeared on Twitter, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote that he was "proud to stand with Presidents" on the appeal.

Called the OneAmericaAppeal, the campaign follows in the footsteps of a series of successful disaster relief efforts undertaken on behalf of the victims of the tsunami in southeast Asia, the quake in Haiti, and hurricanes Katrina and Ike. Funds collected will go into a special account at the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation to ensure all the proceeds go to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.

While the appeal initially focused on the devastation left in the wake of Harvey, which left almost 70 dead in Texas, the appeal has now expanded to those affected by Irma in the Caribbean. A website for online donations is now live at OneAmericaAppeal.org.

Carter points out the relief efforts carried out by Texans, including the Bush family. Clinton and George H.W. Bush also raised money for the 2005 Asian tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, Variety reported.
