North Korea has recently increased missile test launches and its threats towards the US and its territory of Guam, which lies in the Pacific roughly 2,100 miles away from Pyongyang, provoking a series of bellicose warnings from President Donald Trump that only resulted in attracting more mockery and threats.

This might have been Kim's plan all along as he sought what to do next after North Korea's weapons development reached a point where it could test intercontinental ballistic missiles meant to reach deep into the USA mainland.

On Tuesday, Pyongyang fired a ballistic missile over Japan's northern Hokkaido island, triggering public alerts to take cover before landing in the sea.

North Korea is expected to feature heavily in the talks after Pyongyang launched a ballistic missile test on Monday that passed over Japanese territory, prompting worldwide condemnation.

North Korea issued a new set of stamps Thursday to commemorate the July 2 test launch of its intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) Hwasong-14.

Wang reiterated China's position of placing importance on dialogue with North Korea, the ministry said.

"We're working diplomatically with Secretary (of State Rex) Tillerson in the lead, and I maintain behind that military options for the president, to back up the diplomacy".

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe denounced the launch as an "unprecedented, serious and grave threat" and agreed with U.S. President Donald Trump to "further strengthen pressure against North Korea".

The planned joint US and South Korean response has been named OPLAN 5015.

Trump on Wednesday implied that diplomacy with North Korea is over, tweeting that "talking is not the answer".

The US built the F-35 to penetrate the most heavily guarded airspaces on earth and to fool the most advanced anti-aircraft systems for decades to come.

Russian Federation has said that USA military activity in the region is partly to blame for the increase in tensions, and has urged restraint and called for negotiations.

"We're never out of diplomatic solutions".

"There's a possibility of strategic provocations, including additional ballistic missile launches and a sixth nuclear test", the ministry said.

North Korea had earlier threatened to fire a salvo of Hwasong-12s toward Guam, which is home to key USA military bases and strategic long-range bombers the North finds threatening. He says the North Korean threat toward Guam is more about winning greater freedom of military action than about deterring flyovers of USA bombers or stopping the U.S.
