Forbes reports that Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's music video for "Despacito" has become the most watched video of all-time on YouTube. It only took 7 months to reach the historic number, that means it has been watched almost 15 million times every day, or 170 times per second. As I type this, the original version has been viewed 2,994,524,361 times, meaning that it's a sure thing to be the first-ever 3-billion-plus song on the site. Earlier, See You Again defeated Psy's Gangnam Style to secure the numero uno spot.

"Despacito" has already been named most streamed song of all time.

Make way for another honor for the team of LUIS FONSI, DADDY YANKEE and (on the remix) JUSTIN BIEBER's summer smash, "Despacito". Now, YouTube experiencing a much higher viewership in recent months has favored the rise of Despacito. I recognise the influence that the platform has.

Bow down, YouTube - 'Despacito' is your new king. "Thank you YouTube", said Daddy Yankee. Despite the popularity of the Justin Bieber remix of "Despacito", which is now topping the ARIA charts, it doesn't even have an official video, so the audio for that tracks sits at a comparatively small 470 million views at the present time. The music industry [has] changed. The song has spent the last 12 weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
