The loss of Matic and sale of Nathaniel Chalobah to Watford means that Conte has Cesc Fabregas, N'Golo Kante and new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko as options in the middle of the park.

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League champions Chelsea, according to Sky Sports, as they seek a replacement for Nemanja Matic, who completed a £40 million move to rivals Manchester United on Monday.

Leicester City would (and should) hope that Chelsea aren't too serious about their pursuit of Danny Drinkwater, because if they are, then the lure of the Bridge would mean there's only one victor.

Drinkwater, a product of Manchester United's youth academy, played a key role in Leicester's remarkable 2015/16 title triumph and, despite the Foxes' turbulent season last term, remained a key member of the side, making 43 appearances in all competitions.

"Drinkwater is now priced at 2/1 with BetStars to join the Premier League champions this summer".

The 27-year-old recently penned a new four-year deal at the King Power Stadium and boss Craig Shakespeare will have no intention of letting him go, but his resolve could be tested in the coming day and weeks.

The midfielder has also been recognised at global level after breaking into the England set-up and it appears he's now being lined-up for a big-money move to the defending league champions.

The former Italy boss has also looked into the possibility of bringing in Bayern Munich " s Renato Sanches, but ambitious Serie A outfit AC Milan appear to be his preferred destination.
