Having not featured in an F1 race for the last three years, Williams is fully backing Scotsman Di Resta to do the business this weekend and fill the void left by Massa.

'Felipe visited the medical centre and the MH EK Honvedkorhaz hospital for precautionary tests on Friday, after feeling unwell and dizzy during FP2.

He said he was feeling better on Saturday morning and was passed fit to take part in final practice.

Williams says it "supports Felipe's decision and the team will work with him to ensure he makes a full recovery, with a view to return to the race track for the Belgian Grand Prix" in late August.

Lance Stroll qualified 17th and Paul di Resta 19th for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Di Resta, 31, had also been due to deputise for pundit Martin Brundle in the Sky Sports commentary box in Hungary. It's just the vehicle is not where it should be, and we've got a lot of work to do to come back and compete as we should at these high downforce circuits.

"I've not driven one of these cars for three-and-a-half years, apart from 10 laps I did in a 2014 vehicle, and then you get thrown into qualifying which is the deepest of all deep ends - it's like jumping off a cliff and seeing how you fight for survival". "I'm standing by pretty close".

"It's weird. I was sitting talking about what we'd be saying in the qualifying build-up show, but diving straight in, I'm not going to lie, I was scared, I was nervous, anxious". It's a tricky little track. You just have to get in the auto and do the job possible. From that you carry all of Felipe's brake and steering wheel settings, everything you try and work through a weekend to do, but it is hard. There's no pressure out there.

"Even if I drove this morning then I wouldn't get to drive on high fuel and would only be one compound".

The Brit though admitted the experience went better than he could have possibly hoped, but still expects to struggle on race day in Budapest.
