Trump's Federal Bureau of Investigation director nominee Chris Wray to testify on July 12

On June 28, weeks after Comey's testimony, Senate Intelligence Committee leadership said the panel finally secured "a commitment'' for the delivery of the documents, which were provided to special counsel Robert Mueller, who is running the Justice Department's investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russians who hacked to Democrats during last year's presidential campaign. If there was classified information in the memo that Comey asked his friend to leak to the Times, that's not yet been reported".

Trump also shared a video of Fox News' newest talking head and former House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz, who said Comey initially was hesitant to share his memos with him, which he considered very telling.

The comprehensive, 68-page document is one of the hurdles Wray faces as he seeks to fill the role at the top of the nation's premier law enforcement agency, after the abrupt firing of James Comey in May by President Donald Trump. "That is so illegal!"

On Monday, Conway also defended Trump's son Donald Jr. over the controversy surrounding his decision to meet with a Russian attorney during the election who said she had information about Clinton. In the clip, an anchor explained that "a brand new bombshell report" suggests former FBI Director James Comey "may have actually broken the rules" and put "our national security at risk" when he shared with a friend a memo he'd written detailing one of his conversations with Trump. "The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation does indeed write classified memos". Roy Blount (R-Mo.) on whether the memos were "government documents", Comey testified that they were not, calling them the personal recordings of a private citizen.

The report noted that the memos were shown to Congress in recent days. Still, it's hard to see how the former FBI director's flouting of bureaucratic protocol is anywhere near as concerning as the president's concerted efforts to compromise the independence of federal law enforcement.

"As the head of the nation's largest federal prosecutor's office, I led and managed over 400 prosecutors and over 900 total employees in almost all areas of federal criminal law", Wray wrote, about his years as an assistant attorney general, heading the DOJ's criminal division. After he was sacked, Comey allegedly had a friend release one of the memos to the media. If they contained classified information, he was not entitled to leak them without prior approval. We'll keep an eye on this story, but take the Hill's report with a grain of salt for now.
