Still, I can't imagine Apple shipping the iPhone 8 without Touch ID. But now that's reportedly been shelved.

Disciples of the Apple analyst KGI's Ming-Chi Kuo will be happy to know that that the Apple guru has posted yet another round of predictions from his crystal ball today. No matter how fast and accurate Apple's 3D facial scanning is on the iPhone 8, a user still wouldn't be able to unlock the iPhone without lifting it up and pointing it directly at his or her face. One could include a 5.2 to 5.8-inch OLED display while the remaining releases may feature 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch LCD screens. The technology is described as super-speedy, scanning a person's face and unlocking the iPhone in a matter of "a few hundred milliseconds". Or, it could simply be a lot less secure if Apple forgoes the need for some kind identity authentication and simply allows users to, perhaps, double-tap the virtual home button to authorize a payment.

Lastly, a separate report from the Korea Herald claims that Apple is close to striking a deal with LG to make OLED displays for iPhones in the future.

9to5Mac got hold of the report and it even elaborates on features like the 5.8-inch OLED display (5.2-inch usable after removing the function area from below). The new phone will have glass on both the front and back that curves at the edges. For starters, there will be three iPhones: the usual 4.7” and 5.5” models with LCD panels (7s and 7s Plus) along with the OLED-packing iPhone 8. Apple has faced challenges integrating the Touch ID fingerprint scanner into this new screen, people familiar with Apple's work have said.

Much of what Kuo had to say in his extensive note to clients on Monday morning mirrored reports and rumors we've already read numerous times.

David and Tom just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy right now. and Apple wasn't one of them! The intent of the new feature is supposedly to replace Touch ID.
