Golden State Warriors President of Basketball Operations/General Manager Bob Myers has been named the 2016-17 NBA Executive of the Year, earning his second such honor in three seasons, the league announced yesterday at the inaugural NBA Awards in NY. The main reason why all the teams are so bound on getting Iguodala on board is that it seems like they all greatly admire the services he has to offer.

The Timberwolves are one of at least seven teams known to be interested in Golden State free agent Andre Iguodala, according to ESPN.

A significant number of personnel within National Basketball Association circles have come to the conclusion that rather than building a superteam, it's much more economically feasible and expeditious to just pluck away talent from the Bay Area juggernauts. That would not only improve the team that secures him, but it would also improve the league's chances of gaining ground on the Warriors. Bleacher Report said "re-signing the forward could plunge the Warriors deep into the luxury tax". Beyond the numbers, the GSW books will be disrupted.

The Warriors earn a lot of revenue, and could make a lot more once they move into their new arena in a few seasons.

Iguodala, the MVP of the 2015 NBA Finals, also is expected to draw interest from San Antonio, the L.A. Clippers, Philadelphia, Orlando, Brooklyn and Utah. Kevin Durant is staying too in preparation for his share of supermax in 2018.

And Klay Thompson is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019.

Of note too is the likelihood of Shaun Livingston remaining with the Warriors.

Iguodala's lack of statements about the free agency could have something to do with his current projects.
