Alves still has one year left on his contract and City have been told a bid of around £5m would be sufficient to persuade the Turin club to sell the 34-year-old.

Alves, 34, was in fine form for Juventus this season, helping the Bianconeri to a record-breaking sixth straight Serie A title and playing a key role in a famous run to the UEFA Champions League final.

Blues, would you like to see City sign Brazilian right back Dani Alves?

After weeks of speculation, Manchester City are closing in on signing a full-back according to reports.

Ian Darke and the FC crew debate whether Kyle Walker is a Pep Guardiola-style player amid a rumoured interest by Manchester City.

'I wish you the best and hope to spend time together again soon.

Alves's aforementioned comments about his future should be encouraging to Spurs, who could do with a player like him in their squad. The right-back was particularly outstanding in the semi-final victory against Monaco, getting involved in his side's first three goals over the two-legged tie before scoring the fourth. The Brazilian is a prime target for the Citizens manager this summer.

Indeed, many of them take great pleasure in pointing out that United are actually based in Old Trafford, which is in Stretford, not Manchester, and that City are quite literally the only team in Manchester.

Pep Guardiola is one of the most successful coaches in history and his peak came during his 4-year spell at Barcelona.
