George's reported informing of the Pacers also allows IN to make appropriate plans over the next year.

For the Pacers, it's an unfortunate bit of news that suddenly changes their summer plans drastically.

The 27-year-old, who is a California native, can sign a four-year, $130 million free-agent deal with Los Angeles next summer.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking into a potential trade that could land them Paul George from the Indiana Pacers, according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio. George also stated that he will be working out with Lakers future Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant this summer. The news isn't good for the Pacers organization as it will diminish the trade value of George with other teams.

The rationale behind a George trade can be oversimplified. He has played for the Pacers since being selected by IN with the 10th pick of the 2010 draft. He is coming off a season in which he averaged 23.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

That likely means D'Angelo Russell, Brandon Ingram, and Julius Randle, at the very least, are not going to be centerpieces in any effort to land George from the Indiana Pacers.

If Paul George is going to land with the Los Angeles Lakers, it sounds as if it will be via free agency, not a trade.

It makes sense for the Pacers to remain patient when it comes to their plans with George. But even if the 2017 edition of this event is again expected to be action-packed, it may prove to be a relatively quiet one for the Indiana Pacers and their star player Paul George. That would drub another team's odds at sneaking in at the last second and making the All-Star wing an offer with a better supporting cast.
