Clarke's assistant told Washington Post on Saturday that the bombastic Milwaukee sheriff has told DHS Secretary John Kelly that he's withdrawing himself from consideration to become an assistant secretary in the Office of Partnership and Engagement.

Clarke, Jr., you know the black man that loves to chide black people in the name of his lord and master Donald J. Trump, won't be taking the assistant secretary position at the Department of Homeland Security.

Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke has decided not to accept that job at the Department of Homeland Security after all.

Clarke said in the statement he thinks his skills could be better used in a "more aggressive role".

Clarke notified Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly on Friday of his decision, Craig Peterson, an adviser to Clarke, said in a statement, according to the Washington Post and other newspapers.

At the time, a spokeswoman for the agency said no announcement on Clarke had been made.

Clarke strongly backed Donald Trump during the United States presidential election and compared Black Lives Matter to the Ku Klux Klan. As sheriff, David Clarke is in charge of the Milwaukee County jail; local authorities are now reviewing incidents where inmates died while in custody there.

Clarke, a longtime Trump supporter who spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention, is a controversial figure who described the Black Lives Matter movement as "the enemy" in an op-ed post and has been critical of government institutions.
