Melanie Lubovac of KO Boxing wouldn't comment on the event when reached late Saturday when Hague's family said he was in critical condition, but Lubovac said a statement would likely be issued Sunday or Monday.

The card, which took place under the KO Boxing banner at the Shaw Conference Centre, was sanctioned and overseen by the Edmonton Combative Sports Commission (ECSC).

After being hit right in the face, Hague landed face first on the mat and his head bounced off the canvas - prompting immediate concern from medical officials in the arena.

Checkout the complete fight right here.

MMA reporter Mike Russell revealed on Saturday that Hague suffered a seizure in the locker room and went into a coma.

Not a lot of information other than the situation being really serious has been released as of now.

"Following the news that boxer Tim Hague is in critical condition following a professional boxing match on Friday, June 16, 2017, we have extended the request for reports to all referees, ringside judges, physicians, chief inspector, paymaster and the presiding inspectors assigned to the bout".

The 34-year-old Hague fought in MMA for 10 years before turning to boxing. He had to have surgery to relieve pressure from his brain'. But because we're not family, they weren't ale to tell us much more.

Another source close to the fighter revealed that he was brain dead. His overall MMA record was 21-13 with eight knockout losses, including four in the past 22 months.

Too tough for his own good, Hague nearly took on a bareknuckle boxing bout in the United Kingdom a few months later in 2016, but instead agreed to an MMA fight in Russian Federation and was TKO'd by a head kick in just 33 seconds.
