Heat stay alive, rally to top Cavaliers 124-121 in OT Heat down Cavs to stay alive, Jazz halt streaking Warriors

The Cleveland Cavaliers, still alive for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for the NBA Playoffs, meet the Toronto Raptors in the regular-season finale on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. As the second seed, they would open against seventh-seed IN, barely a.500 team.

In many ways, the Cavs are the superior team, but there is something to be said about how both teams seemed to flip roles down the stretch with IN becoming the hottest IN the East while Cleveland staggered. Let's get ready to go.

And not who we've seen them be. "Portland has the first crack, and (the Blazers) will give it everything they have".

That does not bode well for Cleveland, which needs a win and a Boston loss to take the top seed in the East. "I feel very strongly about this group". "All the talking is over, what we can do and what we're going to do".

Who ya got winning the title?

Our pick: Celtics in six. The Cavs have LeBron James, he always wins in the Eastern playoffs, and he's going to get this team to turn it around at the last possible second.

We've heard time and time again, LeBron (and the Cavs) can flip the switch any time they want to. Tristan Thompson returned after missing the previous four games with a sprained right thumb and scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds in the first half. You know how talented he is and know he's going to come out and lead his team.

"To a huge degree, if there's fault associated with our regular season, it's mine because we're signing our 21st and 22nd players right now", Griffin said. Cleveland are 0-7 without James this season. George finished with 43 points on 16-for-33 shooting, including 6-of-16 from deep to go with nine boards, nine assists, three steals and a block.

However, it was anything but easy as the Cavs had to withstand a strong comeback by the Pacers, who could have stolen the opener but C.J. Miles missed a 14-foot jumper in the final second.

Sanders appeared in just five games as a member of the Cavaliers.

LeBron James quickly moved past Cleveland's disjointed regular season, an uphill, 82-game slog of injuries, roster upheaval and drama.

On an individual level, James posted career highs in assists, rebounds and triple doubles as he showed that he has no plans of slowing down.

NOTES: Raptors C Jonas Valanciunas connected on his first 3-pointer this season, with 5:18 left in the second quarter.

"The East has gotten better", Lue stated.

Game 2: Monday, April 17, 7 p.m. The four-time MVP then set aside all the negatives Cleveland dealt with in the regular season. Or maybe they wouldn't be skidding into the first-round matchup with the Indiana Pacers on April 15 at Quicken Loans Arena on a four-game losing streak. He was suspended for Game 4 in Toronto and the Cavs lost that game, but they won the next two - Game 5 in Cleveland and Game 6 in Toronto.
