The Pakistani school-girl, now completing her A-levels after receiving an offer from a top United Kingdom university, will take on the role with a focus on female education.

Malala Yousafzai: I'm really honoured to be given this title of Messenger of Peace, and to me it is more responsibility, which I have already had, which I was already taking, for girls' education - raising awareness, asking world leaders to invest more in education.

Speaking on CBS This Morning in an interview with Norah O'Donnell, the 19-year-old commented on Trump's stance on Syrian refugees - she thinks Trump should visit a refugee camp to gain some "perspective". "There is still a lot more to be done in providing education to girls in Pakistan as indeed in many other countries as well", she added. "I stood here on this stage nearly three and a half years ago. and I told the world that education is the basic human right of every girl", she said.

She leapt to global fame after a Taliban gunman shot her in the head on a school bus in October 2012 for defending her right to attend school.

Yousafzai and Trudeau speak in the prime minister's Centre Block office on issues related to girls' education and empowering women and communities after she addressed Parliament.

Nobel Peace Prize victor Malala Yousafzai has been made a UN Messenger of Peace.

She also called on girls from her home country to make their voices heard.

Yousafazi went on to say that brothers and fathers must also support women and girls in the global effort to ensure education for all and, more importantly, to "be who they want to be".

"[You are a] symbol of perhaps the most important thing in the world, education for all". All Muslim girls believe in education and believe in peace.

"Malala, your story is an inspiration to us all", he said. She went to Britain for medical treatment and now goes to school there. Many are forced to marry early or must work or care for younger siblings, denying them their right to education.

Pakistan's government could recognize Malala Yousafzai's courage by developing a comprehensive policy for protecting students - especially girls - teachers, schools, and universities from attacks and from military use of schools.

She also became the youngest U.N. Messenger of Peace, joining a distinguished group including actors Michael Douglas and Leonardo Dicaprio, primatologist Jane Goodall and musicians Daniel Barenboim and Yo-Yo Ma.
