All 20,000 available tickets were given away in under 5 minutes after they became available at noon on Friday, according to Amazon Music.

Yup, the rumors were true.

Due to popular demand Garth Brooks will have four shows at the State Farm Center.

"When you come back here, Austin is the home of the music and the heart, the content... this was the place that fed us when we couldn't afford to feed ourselves, and a man can make a living in Texas alone just playing Country music", said Brooks. The singer will play on Saturday, March 18, on the SXSW Outdoor Stage located at Lady Bird Lake with the Austin skyline as a backdrop.

Amazon Music announced that admission by complimentary ticket to this event will be restricted to residents of Austin and surrounding areas. No ticket is required with a badge or wristband. Brooks regularly sells out venues with that figure as a capacity.

Brooks encored with a rowdy "Callin' Baton Rouge" and gave Broken Spoke owner White his guitar as a gift before ceding the stage to the house band's next set. You can bet a few thousand - probably a gross underestimate - will take advantage of this opportunity to see him play.

During a keynote speech on Friday (March 17), Garth mentioned that he might do a surprise show this evening as well.

The news comes on the heels of Brooks' announcement that he'll be opening and closing the 2018 Houston Stock Show and Rodeo.
