Jared Cook is looking to find a new home, and the Oakland Raiders might be the right fit. If you read the press, the addition of free agent tight end Jared Cook is drawing rave reviews as if the signing will give quarterback Derek Carr another impact target in his passing arsenal. Cook had 18 catches for 229 yards and two scores in three playoff games. NFL Network first reported the deal and says it is worth $12.2 million over two years with $5 million guaranteed in the first year.

Last season was Cook's first on a playoff team, and he called it "the most fun" he's ever had in his eight-year career, during which he's caught 303 passes for 3,880 yards and 17 touchdowns. Cook, who will turn 30 on April 7, has played with the Titans, Rams and Packers.

The Oakland Raiders already boasted a unsafe offense last season. Since arriving in Tennessee back in 2009-2010, he has appeared in at least 10 regular season games in each of his National Football League seasons.

The Raiders actually received about the same contribution from their top tight end target, Clive Walford, who caught 33 balls on 52 targets for 359 yards while hauling in three scores. Walford, injured last off-season in an ATV accident, did not appear to fully healthy and was plagued by dropped passes. Absolutely. Is he an elite tight end?

Cook will now join the Raiders' tandem of prolific wide receivers in Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree as the aforementioned Carr has finally found an established presence at the tight end position. He is the third offensive player added to the roster, joining tackle Marshall Newhouse and wide reciever and return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson.
