The Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday announced the T20 and ODI squads for the upcoming tour to West Indies.

Sarfraz Ahmed will lead both the squads with the first Twenty20 in Barbados on 26 March.

Kamran Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad returned to Pakistan setup in the limited-overs squads for the forthcoming tour of West Indies.

Both the batsmen, Kamran and Shehzad, earned a national call-up following a remarkable Pakistan Super League (PSL) stint, where they featured in the top-five run-scorers' list.

Besides Kamran and Shehzad, the spin duo of Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan carved their space in the national squad through their PSL heroics.

Former ODI captain and opening batsman, Azhar Ali has been dropped from the squad.

"We have given more chances to the young players who are doing well at the domestic level", said Inzamam.

Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said Pakistan could benefit from Akmal's twin roles as a batsman and as a backup wicketkeeper to Pakistan's ODI and T20 captain Sarfraz Ahmed.

For the T20Is, pacers Rumman Raees and Usman Khan Shinwari made the cut with Mohammad Amir receiving the axe. The remaining three matches will be played in Port of Spain on March 30, April 1 and 2.

Fast-bowler Mohammad Amir is rested for the T20Is, whereas left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar is included in the 50-over format. Kamran has also had a highly impressive domestic season, scoring 361 runs from eight innings in the departmental domestic one-day cup and a further 1035 runs from 14 in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy.
