Much like Shadow of Mordor, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will still utilise the Nemesis system.

In a fierce conflict where he initially gets cursed, Talion manages to break free and slay his adversary - with a swift axe to the head. The video also shows how the battle will dynamically change during the course of the siege and a dramatic showdown with the Overlord himself. Returning as a core component of gameplay for the sequel is the Nemesis system which, as the trailer so elegantly explains, will be made up of Overlord leaders of different territories that will be unique for every single player.

These are then used to destroy a main wall - helping your army break in.

In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, nothing will be forgotten.

Before meeting our adversaries, de Plater introduces two of Talion's followers, a Marauder Beast Mount and a "Demolisher", a creature whose name doesn't do it justice.

Talion chooses to recruit the enemy, but other options include the ability to shame him or fight him to the death It isn't unclear exactly what these other choices would yield, but we look forward to finding out.

Players wield a new Ring of Power and confront the deadliest of enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgul, in a monumental battle for Middle-earth. We also get to see that players will be able to sacrifice the Drake by crashing it onto enormous enemies. The demo opens with Talion attacking the fortress of Seregost to overthrow Ur-Hakon the Dragon Lord.

The Nemesis System seeps down into the entire culture of the evil-doers residing in and around their domains.

As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, players can purchase a digital version of Middle-earth: Shadow of War once and play it on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 22 in North America and August 25 in Europe.
