As a result, the game company filed a lawsuit, where U.S. District Judge Ronald S.W. Lew recently ruled in favor of Riot Games, Dot Esports reports. "We apologize for any pain we've caused to players of League of Legends".

League of Legends hackers and cheaters using LeagueSharp paid $15 to $50 a month to use the service, ruining the integrity of the competitive online game.

LeagueSharp has for always been behind a subscription-based illegitimate system, granting members unfair advantage in League of Legends.

LeagueSharp offered a service many other cheating sites do - providing bots that level up and earn currency for your account, circumventing the idea of accruing currency through normal play, which typically drives players to spend real money on "Riot Points" as a shortcut. LeagueSharp was also said to have leaked the private information of a certain employee of Riot Games after the company tried to reach out to the cheating tool company for a settlement before heading into court.

Finding the head (s) of LeagueSharp was more hard than Riot had expected, three german hackers were behind the service who also allegedly started a shell company to avoid the legal ramifications that would soon ensue.

The complaint alleged that LeagueSharp violated League's DMCA, as its product evades Riot's anti-cheating software.

With the victory of Riot Games, players who have experienced going up against cheaters on League of Legends will hopefully see the chance of such incidents happening be reduced dramatically.

For starters, there's the huge payout that Riot Games will be receiving, which should work well to deter future attempts at restarting the business.
