The Finding Dory voice actress then shared a few snaps of Bush's mother, Barbara Bush, also having a hard time putting on a poncho at another political event, which the 43rd commander in chief found hysterical.

Bush got a sweet hug from Michelle Obama at the opening ceremony for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on September 24 in Washington, D.C. "Anybody who likes my sense of humor, I immediately like", Bush told People while promoting his new book, "Portraits of Courage", which features his paintings of military veterans.

At the museum opening, Bush and Obama were photographed in a warm embrace. He told People that Obama is fond of his humor, which, in turn, makes him fond of her.

Bush was evidently swinging his arms and appeared to be enjoying himself, prompting some to criticize him for not acting appropriately during a solemn occasion.

"I needle her a little bit and around her, I'm fairly lighthearted", he said.

The collection, on display at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Texas until October 1, features 66 portraits and a four-panel mural. Bush had a now-famous struggle with his rain poncho during the swearing-in ceremony, and it quickly became a meme.

He talked about his close friendship with Michelle Obama and his attendance at the inauguration, which, if you remember, was kind of a tough time for the former president. "And ya, I didn't like it sometimes when people said things about me, but that's the job".

And though he's friendly with President Obama, it doesn't touch his bond with Michelle.
