In the new issue of Net-a-Porter's The Edit, Nicole Kidman dropped a bombshell about her relationship with Lenny Kravitz.

In a new interview with The EDIT, the 49-year-old revealed that she was once set to Wednesday... drum roll please...

She said: "I'm dedicated to being the chameleon", she explains.

"I love Lenny", Kidman went on to add.

Kidman is now promoting HBO miniseries "Big Little Lies", which stars Reese Witherspoon, Kidman, as well as Lenny Kravitz's daughter Zoë.

However, the "Australia" star - who has children Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise and Sunday, eight, and Faith, six, with her spouse Keith Urban - has likened herself to a chameleon because of her ability to switch between various characters.

"It just wasn't right", she told Vanity Fair in 2007 of the secret engagement, without revealing her former fiancé. "I wasn't ready. We weren't ready", she told the publication. "I don't want to date".

But she has no hard feelings towards her former flame.

"I get engaged and I get married - that's my thing", she continued. While Kidman and Kravitz had clearly once been a couple, it was never confirmed that they were due to marry - until now. "I'm interested in a very, very deep connection".

Kidman had previously revealed that she had been secretly engaged, but failed to reveal who to. The series centers on a group of women - all in different stages of motherhood - in Monterey, California, whose seemingly ideal lives begin to unravel to the point of murder. "I was emotionally and physically traumatized".

We wonder what they're chatting about. "That's what I love doing; small role, big role, it doesn't matter". "And then I realized, 'Oh my gosh, that's how much I'm holding all this in, the anger, the pain'".
