Fox News Reportedly Settled Sexual-Harassment Allegations Against Bill O’Reilly

Sexual Harassment Fox News Settled Claims of Harassment by Ex-Host

In a letter from Huddy's lawyer obtained by the New York Times, the former Fox anchor alleged that both O'Reilly and Abernathy had sexually harassed her. She claims he kissed her after inviting her to his home and had her deliver a key to his hotel room while he was dressed only in his boxers.

Huddy also claims she faced workplace harassment from newly appointed Fox News co-President Jack Abernethy. The network's parent company, 21st Century Fox, immediately launched an internal investigation into Ailes's behavior at the network, during which more than 20 women, including Megyn Kelly, came forward to share their stories (Ailes has repeated and voraciously denied all allegations and wrongdoing).

Fox News has settled sexual harassment allegations leveled against host Bill O'Reilly by a former employee a year ago, according to multiple reports.

O'Reilly reportedly settled the lawsuit for millions. O'Reilly's attorney, Fredric S. Newman, told the Times, "There is absolutely no basis for any claim" against the prime-time host.

Juliet Huddy, who hosted "Fox & Friends Weekend" before moving on to "O'Reilly Factor", said the show's host not only made unwanted advances towards her on multiple occasions, but he even tried to force himself on her when she visited his house.

According to the Times, Huddy received a sum in "the high six figure" range - which was paid by the network and not by O'Reilly or Abernathy.

An article by The New York Times mentions one of the incidences of O'Reilly's alleged advances. She left the Fox affiliate in September. Before that, in 2004, Fox producer Andrea Mackris sued him for repeatedly subjecting "her to sexual harassment through dinner and phone conversations variously described as lewd, lascivious, vile and threatening".

Huddy also alleged that O'Reilly's phone calls would veer from work issues to "highly inappropriate and sexual" subject matter. Shortly after receiving the settlement, Huddy abruptly left Fox 5 in NY in September.

We reached out to Fox News for additional comment and will update upon reply.

To sort its way through the Ailes mess, 21st Century Fox commissioned an investigation by the NY law firm Paul, Weiss.

Can someone get a handle on the grown men at Fox News?

Huddy also claimed she faced sexual harassment from Abernethy who "constantly called her at the office and asking her to come by his office". For a guy who last summer said "I Don't Want to Work This Hard Much Longer", well, right!
