When the model arrives in markets worldwide from January 2017, it will be priced between the two- and four-wheel drive coupe models.
Last night, at a multimillion-dollar mansion packed with one-percenters high above Santa Monica, Lamborghini revealed the latest addition to the company's supercar portfolio: a rear-wheel-drive version of the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder.
Lamborghini said the suspension, steering, and electronic stability controls have been retuned for rear-wheel drive and that the weight balance shifts to 40 percent front, 60 percent rear. Lamborghini Huracan will have a top speed of 319 km/h.
"This is a Lamborghini for those with a passion for life and the purest driving experience on the open road", Domenicali says. The soft-top can be opened at speeds of up to 31 miles per hour and takes just 17 seconds to open and close. All-new front air intakes, rear fin, removable wind guard, and integrated ducts have been added to the Huracan RWD Spyder by Lamborghini. Pirelli P Zero tires, exclusive to the rear-drive Huracan, wrap around 19-inch Kari rims.
Now Lamborghini makes some immensely lovely and fast supercars and the Huracan is no different.
The streamlined supercar features a lightweight soft roof which can be deployed in a matter of 17 seconds at speeds below 50 kmph.
Like the LP580-2 coupe, the Spyder uses a detuned version of Lamborghini's 5.2-liter V10. However, as we've found in the coupe, the rear-wheel drive Huracan has more understeer in the initial phase of a corner than the all-wheel drive cars. Still, the LP580-2 Spyder can do 0 to 62 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 198 miles per hour, Lamborghini says.
Lamborghini says that the new design of the front and rear of the vehicle identifies this model. It now has specially contoured steel brakes with aluminum disc brake pots that lessen overall weight of the Huracan Spyder.
