This will be the second Manchester Derby of the season, and just like the first one, it will take place at Old Trafford, and rivals Pep Guardiola and José Mourinho will face off again.

The very latest form lines suggest so, with all three winning each of their last two games, seeing them make up half of the Premier League's top six at this early stage of the season.

In other all-Premier League clashes, Southampton beat Crystal Palace 2-0, through goals from Charlie Austin and Jake Hesketh, while Stoke City's woeful start to the season continued, when they went down 2-1 to Hull City.

Just when Slaven Bilic thought things couldn't get any worse for West Ham's creaky defence, the Croatian coach had to watch Southampton run his back-four ragged in Sunday's 3-0 victory for the visitors at the London Stadium. The biggest upset came from Goodison Park as Everton were defeated for the first time this season at the hands of Championship club Norwich. Manchester United, which will be shown by Sky on the Wednesday.

His response was to drop Rooney, who cut a slightly bemused figure on the sidelines as United, and Paul Pogba, in particular, made light of his absence.

Last Friday's victory over Chelsea has had everyone wondering whether the Reds can actually mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Why? City are yet to drop a point in the league, and with Sergio Aguero back from suspension it is hard to see that happening here.

"Of course, he is as happy as I am", Mourinho told reporters. "I trust him completely".

It has been a long time coming, but Arsenal finally produced the required display to see off Chelsea - and with some style as Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil helped put the Gunners 3-0 ahead before half-time. Meanwhile, Liverpool rode on the strikes from Adam Lallana, James Milner (two penalties), Sadio Mane and a trademark special by Philippe Coutinho, against 10-man Hull City in a 5-1 win at Anfield.

"There are players playing out of position, they look short on confidence, and this is a big football match for them, considering they are already six points behind Manchester City". It's been almost 30 years since the league title came home to Anfield, too long for a club with the pedigree and history as the one inhabiting the red side of the Mersey.
