'Outlander': Brianna & Roger Finally Meet In Season 2 Finale

Sammy Stanley | 12 July, 2016, 02:48

Outlander executive producer Maril Davis sat down with Zap2it to discuss the Season 2 finale called "Dragonfly in Amber" but luckily for fans, Andrea Reiher of Zap2it managed to get some juicy details about Outlander Season 3 and Season 4. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) have been scheming all season to thwart Bonnie Prince Charlie's (Andrew Gower) plans for a Jacobite Rebellion on Scottish soil but despite their best efforts, that confrontation seems nearly destined at this point. He says the scene was lovely from a cinematic standpoint, but it also shows Claire's understanding that, in order to come full circle, she's going to have to return to the past.

And with that, Jamie knew his future was grim, so after saying goodbye to Claire (which I'll obviously get to in a bit), he goes back to fight and face death. Unfortunately, Dougal McKenzie heard their plotting and Claire and Jamie were forced to take him on, killing him together. Adding to this, we will also see Richard Rankin as Roger Wakefield. She also is very stressed about this casting as she has a definite picture of him in her mind but she does not know where to find him yet. "I can't go back with you, ' There's so many ways that moment could go", the showrunner said.

There are reports that the "Outlander" Season 2 finale actually makes ground for a flawless opening of Season 3.

So, 1746. Claire came up with a "screw it all" solution and offered to poison Prince Charles. He doesn't even particularly want to kill Claire, although at this point, he sees her as a meddling witch, basically. It wrapped up all the loose ends, but still left us excited about Season Three, which is exactly what we want in a finale.

In the book series, Frank dies about 20 years later, and Claire returns to Scotland with her daughter, Brianna, to research all she can about the Battle of Culloden, and Jamie's life. Her name is Brianna and we've been promised a meeting with her in the season two finale.

Soon, Roger and Brianna are off to see the wild, attractive Scottish countryside on their own as the flirting and connecting kicks up a notch. We all know this, as it's why she ended up returning to Frank.

While in Scotland for a funeral, Claire begins to reminisce about her life with Jamie, and remembers their last day on the battle of Culloden. As they say a tearful goodbye, they verbalize what we've come to see over the past episodes.

For all the fans (like us!) who were desperately hoping that Jamie would be able to pass through the stones with his soul mate, Davis revealed that, although it was tempting to dream otherwise, the producers ultimately knew they needed to stick to Gabaldon's original work. Plus, Jamie gives Claire a ring for their baby and she gives him their dragonfly in amber, which is just the sweetest ever.

Claire finds out she is alive and goes to her house to try to save her, but meets her husband instead and finds out that Geillis thinks she needs a human sacrifice to go through the stones. William Grey is the young man who broke into Jamie's camp in 'Je Suis Prest' and, at least in the books, he becomes a very important character in the future. I don't know how realistic her appearance is for a 50 year-old, but she does look like she's aged. No Jamie. and she's back in her modern time.

Episode 13, which was named after Diana Gabaldon's 1992 book in which the series was based after, will flash forward to 1968. She's pregnant with their child and he says there is no place for her in 18th century Scotland any longer.
